Hear that? It’s the sound of the school bell ringing. Class is officially back in session! In your household, who’s more excited: you or your kids? Hey, no judgment here! In fact, the only thing Downtown Bellefontaine is handing out is free school supplies–and snacks!

On Friday, September 2^nd, The Fun Company will present its Back to School Bash, an event you and your kiddos don’t want to miss! The whole family is officially invited to join us from 4:30 to 7 PM for a B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Backpack) adventure. Though, we highly recommend showing up a little early to ensure you get plenty of goodies.

While supplies last, your children will have the opportunity to walk around town and collect school supplies from myriad local businesses. What better way to prepare for a brand-new school year than with pencils, pens, paper, books . . . you know, all of the necessities? After all, you can never have enough school supplies.

Later, once your little ones have filled their bags, make sure you stop by the landmark fountain for some delicious treats. We’re calling this area the “Grill and Chill” section. Again, while supplies last, grab something to snack on and enjoy the beautiful evening. The plan is to have hot dogs and floats, so whatever you do, don’t dawdle . . . and bring your appetite. A variety of yard games will be set up, too. Remember, our good weather is limited, so take advantage now–before it’s too late.

Additionally, many of the local downtown stores will be offering back-to-school specials and deals. As such, this is an ideal time to shop. Shop for you, shop for your family, shop for your friends–just shop until you drop and, of course, save!

Also on Friday, there is a chance for those who choose to participate to win a $100 Chamber Check. All you have to do is bring an outdoor recess toy to donate to a local elementary school and you will automatically be entered in the drawing. Pretty easy, right? And, if you don’t happen to win, at least you showed your support for a good cause.

Can you think of a better possible way to kick off a holiday weekend? We can’t! Indulge in this moment with your friends and family for as long as you can. Now that fall is upon us and will be swinging into full gear in just a few weeks, it’s important to find room to spend time with your loved ones. With fall, as you know, comes busy school days, football and soccer games, and cooler weather. This event is it–this event is for you and those loved ones to get together again before life gets hectic.

So, on Friday, September 2^nd, from 4:30 to 7 PM, come on down to Downtown Bellefontaine. We hope to see you and your entire family out and about, celebrating the start of what will definitely be another successful school year.
