Cracked Pot Studio Partners with Triple Moon Design Co. to Bring Paint-Your-Own Pottery to Downtown Bellefontaine

June 9, 2025 – A new creative collaboration is taking shape in Downtown Bellefontaine. Cracked Pot Studio and Triple Moon Design Co. are teaming up to bring a permanent paint-your-own pottery experience to the heart of downtown.
Thelma Matthews, founder of Cracked Pot Studio, has been a fixture in Bellefontaine’s art scene for decades. Known for her expertise in pottery and her ability to draw artists from around the country to her studio, Thelma has built a space that inspires beginners and professionals alike. Now, she’s expanding her vision by moving her walk-in pottery painting studio into Triple Moon Design Co. at 117 W. Columbus Ave.
“Partnering with Jessica and Triple Moon is a natural next step for Cracked Pot,” said Thelma. “It allows us to reach more people, right in the middle of the energy and foot traffic of downtown. I’ve always believed art should be accessible and fun, and this partnership gives us a new way to welcome people in.”
Triple Moon Design Co. has become known as a creative retail destination, offering a curated selection of gifts, lifestyle goods, and experiences – including its popular candle lab. The new paint-your-own pottery studio will operate much the same way: walk in off the street, choose a pottery piece, paint at your own pace, and return later to pick up your kiln-fired creation.
“This has been a dream in the making,” said Jessica Epley, owner of Triple Moon Design Co. “Thelma’s work and passion for pottery are so inspiring, and we’re honored to help carry that forward. We’re always looking for ways to add more creativity and community connection to our space, and this is the perfect fit.”
The new walk-in pottery experience officially opened last weekend. Thelma will frequently be at Triple Moon to help welcome guests to the space.
Cracked Pot Studio will continue its operations at Union Station in Bellefontaine, where Thelma hosts advanced pottery workshops, national artists, and sells locally made ceramic goods. The downtown location will focus on making pottery accessible to everyone, from kids to curious first-timers.
